Birchleggings Club Financial Grants
As part of our mission to support the American Birkebeiner and encourage healthy lifestyles, the Birchleggings Club has provided monetary grants to several organizations. Here are some recent recipients:
In October 2025 ten grant applications were vetted and nine were awarded as follows.
$1500 to the Iola, WI Winter Sports Club to support their youth ski program.
$2000 to Team Birkie to help offset costs incurred for travel at the 2026 Nationals competition.
$1620 to the ABSF for one-year lease of a porta-potty near the Birchleggings Club Hut at the Mosquito Brook trailhead.
$1000 to the Cable Community Farm to improve raptor habitat for the birds that help provide pest control on the farm.
$1000 to Protect Our Winters to support their operations that work towards climate change mitigation and a sustainable winter climate.
$1500 to Central Cross Country Skiing’s Nordic Rocks program that provides youth cross country ski equipment to school and community programs.
$1200 to the ABSF for the Birchleggings Club to sponsor the trail marker at kilometer 52 on the Birkie classic trail for three years.
$1000 to Wisconsin Nordic Network to provide entry-fee scholarships for first-time Korte youth skiers.
$3000 to the ABSF towards long-range program development.
None of this is made possible without the contributions and involvement of Birchleggings Club members, Birkie skiers, and participants at our fundraising events. On behalf of the BLC and all these organizations we extend a large Thank You!
If your
organization’s mission matches ours as described above, it may apply for a
grant. Grant applications are available at this link: Birchleggings Grant Application
